will follow up on the 10% COA Action Items.

Subject: City Action
Items
Jim,
Per
your request in your comments on the 10% design review workshop meeting minutes,
below is a list of the action items noted in those meeting minutes. In
addition, we’ve included a few action item requests for the City that have come
up since the 10% design review workshop.
- Provide Kennedy/Jenks with a year of C:N
ratio data for the BCF. (DONE)
- Evaluate 4-auger
mixer.
- Develop procurement documents for mobile
mixer; K/J to review and provide comments.
- Prepare marketing flyer; K/J to review
and provide comments.
- Evaluate status of property south of BCF
to see if it could be used for construction staging or if a permanent easement
for access road to BCF could be obtained.
- Provide BCF shop drawings/construction
notes to K/J.
- Purchase EJCDC documents (as identified
by K/J) and provide to K/J. (DONE)
- Provide sample confidentiality agreement
to K/J.
- Provide sample SOQ form to
K/J.
- Provide modified proposal form to K/J if
not included in EJCDC documents.
- Provide specifications for 1997 Phase A
(Liquid Phase) construction project.
- Provide information on flow, duration,
and water quality characteristics for the WTP filter backwash load to the
WWTP.
- City comments on the Schematic
Design Technical Memorandum suggested that the new Lab/Office Building needs
to accommodate 12 personnel. Please confirm this number or provide
information on number of personnel to be accommodated within the new
Lab/Office Building.
- Provide information on desired lab
counter space within the new Lab/Office Building.
- Provide feedback on whether space is
needed at the far end of the BCF for turning of trucks used to deliver
amendments, or if having the trucks turn in the street and back in is
acceptable.
- Provide a decision on designing the
aerobic digesters for 10 day SRT with no thickening versus 20 day SRT with
thickening. The City indicated they needed information on the sludge
quality and quantity at the 10 day and 20 day SRT. Kennedy/Jenks will
furnish a summary of these results along with their perceived impact on
composting operations and a recommendation for the City to review before
making a decision.
- Provide confirmation on the target
dewatered sludge cake concentration of around 15% versus the current
concentration of around 12%. The City has indicated that the target
concentration may depend on the quantity of nitrogen in the dewatered
sludge. Kennedy/Jenks recommends designing for a target concentration of
15% (about the maximum that could be consistently achieved with aerobically
digested WAS), unless this will result in significant adverse impacts on
composting operations.
