Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks Karmen Karmen, The stream’s OHWM was determined by using multiple indicators including (1) the upper elevation of alluvial features (e.g., point bars), (2) significant changes in slope, and (3) significant changes in vegetation. Specifically, for most of this this site, the OHWM was where the reed canarygrass begins to thin out at the first major elevation break on the riverbank. In regards to the missing numbers on the sketch map, I only picked the points seen on the map because of their location relative to notable features on the site (i.e. boat ramp, bridge, etc). It's strictly for reference purposes and the flags that were omitted from the sketch map can be found between the ones that are shown. Let me know if you need anymore info. -Ben From: Mike Wolanek [mailto:mwolanek@ci.arlington.wa.us] Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 11:35 AM To: Karmen Martin Cc: James Kelly; Chris Kelsey Subject: RE: Arlington OHWM Request Thanks, Karmen. Do you have field notes that document the geomorphic and vegetative features observed that helped to locate your points? We may need to extend OHWM downstream and would like to assure procedures/observations are similar. From your sketch, I notice that several points are not shown (6,7,9,12,14). Is this something to be aware of? Jim, Chris, when is the surveyor expected to be on site? I've attached our field sketch showing the flag locations. We flagged approx. 100' up and down from the outfall pipe. There are 15 blue and white striped flags. I imagine the vegetation is much denser now so some of the flags may be difficult for the surveyor to locate, but hopefully they can piece it together. Let me know if you need anything else. As I recall, the OHWM was flagged but surveying of it was left for a later date. Can you please re-send your documentation and/or an update to it?
